Revolut has begun rolling out AIR — AI by Revolut — to customers across the UK. The assistant is embedded directly in the Revolut app and is designed to handle everyday financial tasks through conversation, replacing multi-step menu navigation with a single chat interface.
AIR is accessible by swiping down from the centre of the app’s home screen, or via Profile → Chats → AIR. It operates exclusively on data already visible to the customer within the app, including transactions, investments, card information, and subscriptions.
What AIR Can Do
The assistant covers a broad range of tasks. Users can ask for an instant breakdown of spending by category — coffee, subscriptions, groceries — across any time period. They can freeze a card, order a replacement, or set card controls through the same interface. For travel, AIR can help plan a trip budget and purchase a Revolut eSIM from within the app.
Revolut says personal data will not be stored by third parties. The company describes AIR as deeply embedded in its own ecosystem rather than a wrapper around an external model, though it has not disclosed the underlying AI technology.
“We believe the era of navigating through endless tabs and menus is over. With AIR, we’re delivering a new level of money intelligence that’s both powerful and effortless. It’s not just an assistant — it’s a co-pilot that elevates everyday life, making financial management as easy and natural as sending a text. Crucially, Revolut customers also remain firmly in the driver’s seat, ensuring that money intelligence never comes at the cost of privacy.”

Long in the Making
Revolut first announced plans for an AI financial assistant at its “The Revolutionaries” event in November 2024, where co-founders Nik Storonsky and Vlad Yatsenko laid out the company’s product vision. In June 2025, UK CEO Francesca Carlesi told a Bloomberg event in Milan the assistant “will go live shortly.” The UK launch arrived in April 2026.
Revolut has more than 60 million customers globally and posted pre-tax profits of £1.1 billion in 2024. It holds a UK banking licence, currently in its mobilisation period.
Competitive Context
Revolut is not first to market in the UK. Starling Bank launched its Spending Intelligence feature approximately a month earlier, built on Google’s Gemini large language model. That tool allows customers to query their spending history and receive instant analysis. Starling describes it as the first fully integrated generative AI banking feature available to UK customers.
AIR appears to go further in scope, extending beyond spending retrospectives into card management, travel services, and subscription handling through a unified conversational interface.
Global Rollout Pending
Revolut has confirmed that AIR will expand to additional countries, describing the timeline as “soon.” No specific markets or dates have been announced.
